Gore, OK – Lois Mae (Stanhope) Bigby was born May 13, 1934 and passed from this life on April 29, 2012, after a lengthy illness.
Her passion in life was spending quality time with her family and enjoying country music, especially George Jones.
Lois is preceded in death by her father, John Thomas; mother, Dora Cruz; sisters, Catherine Ensey and Mildred Williams; and the children’s father, Jack Stanhope.
Lois is survived by two sons and two daughters, Jack Stanhope and wife Trudy of Fort Worth, TX, Donnie Stanhope and Wife Marie of Gore, Donna Sheffield of Tahlequah, and Brenda Barnes of Muskogee; brother, Buzz Thomas of Muskogee; sister, Lucy Ferguson of Gore; her lifelong best friend, Shirley Perez of Bastrop, LA; six grandchildren, Rodney Stanhope, Nathan Shade, Brandy Flewellen, Darren Stanhope, Brad McKone and Austin Stanhope; and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 3, 2012, at First Baptist Church of Gore, OK with Rev. Wendell Cox officiating. Interment will follow at White Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Keith McDaniel, Brad McKone, Tyler Crooks, Austin Stanhope, Darren Stanhope and Donnie Stanhope.
