Johnny Jasper Evans

1933 – 2012

Johnny Jasper Evans, 79, died Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at his home in Tulsa.  

He was born May 17, 1933 to John Sanford Evans and Mary Jane (Parker) Evans in Durant, Oklahoma where he attended school. After finishing school, he started working for a tree company and began a career in construction.  He kept a second job as a projectionist at a drive-in theatre in Guthrie and began working as a carpenter. He continued his career in carpentry until his retirement.

Johnny was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Ryan Lynn Evans in 1992; eight brothers, three sisters, and his wife, Patricia Evans in 1986.

He is survived by his wife, Gail Evans of the home; daughters, Jenise Phillips, Deann McClure, Kari Williams and Robyn Kennedy; sons, Robert Evans and Mike Evans; stepchildren, Buddy Haynes, Connie Kenyon, Bobbie Rose and Robin Whittle; 26 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; one sister, Patsy Parrott and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday at Foster-Petering Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Fosters’ Ivory Chapel with Pastor Chuck Myers officiating.
