Era Louise “Lou” Chapman

1932 - 2012

— Era Louise “Lou” Chapman, 79, of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away Monday, January 30, 2012 in Muskogee with her loving family by her side.  She was born December 8, 1932 in Orleans, VT. to Chester Barney and Ida Christine Falcon Barney.  Lou attended Orleans High School graduating with the class of 1950.  She furthered her education attending Salem Hospital School of Nursing in Salem, MA. and Mass Memorial Hospital School of Radiology in Boston, MA.  She advanced to the top of the x-ray department for the State Hospital of Vermont.  Lou also worked as a property manager.

Lou met and later married Arch S Chapman on December 10, 1955 in Orleans, VT.  They recently celebrated 56 years together.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother and sister-in-law, Ike and Ann Barney; and mother-in-law, Maxine Chapman.

Lou is survived by her husband, Arch S Chapman, of the home; daughters, Kay Louise Chapman Stahly and husband, Daniel of Goshen, IN; Kimber Rose Chapman of Fort Myers, FL; son, Kirby C-R Chapman of Muldraugh, KY; sister, Evelyn Webster and husband, Dick, of Tulare, CA.; grandchildren, Justin Robert Hinga, of Norfolk, VA, J Claypool of Fort Myers, FL, and Kathryn Louise Hinga of Fort Wayne, IN; great grandsons, Ethan William Hinga and Landon Wesley Hinga, both of Norfolk, VA.

Family requests memorials to be made to the local area literacy council of your choice.

Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 2, 2012 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Eric Rodgers officiating.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Cornerstone Funeral Home and Crematory, 1830 North York Street, Muskogee, Oklahoma.
