Carolyn Kay Durossette, 67 of Enterprise died Sunday, June 24, 2012 at Stigler. A native of Muskogee she was born November 2, 1944 to Hansel Hall and Rucella (Ford) Hall. She grew up at Muskogee and graduated with the class of 1962. She graduated from Virgil’s Beauty School in 1963. She began raising her family and worked for several Muskogee Beauty Salons for 28 years, including Bunny’s Beauty Salon for many years. She continued her schooling at Northeastern State University earning a degree in Education as well as raising three children and working full time. She was married to Charles Durossette on December 28, 1980 and made their home together south of Muskogee until 1992 when they moved to Enterprise. She worked for Wal-Mart for 19 years until her retirement. She attended the Porum Assembly of God Church. She loved teaching children in Sunday School, loved her church and church family.
She is survived by her husband Charles Durossette of the home; her children, Clay Nichols of Muskogee, Clinton Nichols of wife Tara of Muskogee, Carissa Nichols of Muskogee; Raymond Durossette and wife Terri of Enterprise, Donnie Durossette and wife Ann of Oktaha, David Bailey and wife Tammy of Muskogee, Tina Durossette of Muskogee, Del Durossette of Enterprise; her grandchildren, Kailey Wainwright of Muskogee, Cheyenne Nichols of Watonga, Chloe and Colt Nichols of Muskogee, Cree and Reece Nichols of Muskogee, Cash Nichols of Muskogee, Lisa and Jooey Durossette of Colorado Springs, CO, Brooke and Breanna Durossette of Porum, Dorcy, Brandi, and Jeff Durossette of Oktaha, Brandon and Merinda Corbet of Muskogee, Brandy Shepperd of Muskogee, Bridgett and Courtney Bailey of Muskogee; one great grandchild, Zaiden James Nichols of Stigler; two sisters, Jackie Scott and husband Toby of Muskogee, Banquetta Sue Stuff and husband Fred of Muskogee; one brother, Johnny Hall and wife Kathy of Muskogee; as well as numerous nieces nephews, cousins, and close friends.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, June 29, 2012 at the Porum Assembly of God Church with Reverend Harmon Hiser officiating. Burial will follow at Agnew Cemetery under the direction of King & Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler.
