Funeral services for Sandra Lou Clemens will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, December 10, 2012 at New Hope Assembly of God with Pastor John Overton officiating. Pallbearers will be Chad Robinson, Jeremy Robinson, Jacob Williams, Nathan Williams, Ryan Weins, and Bob Lyle. Honorary pallbearers will be Ian Williams, Brent Moore, Jerry Voss and Larry Kendrick. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa, OK under the direction of Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home in Muskogee.
Sandra Lou Clemens, of Muskogee, OK, was born September 14, 1934 in Vinita, OK to Foster William and Tommie Elizabeth (Pitman) Lyman and went to be with Jesus on December 6, 2012 in Muskogee, OK. As a young child, her family moved to several towns in Oklahoma and Texas, due to her fathers employment as a movie theater manager of Griffins Amusement Co.
In 1942, they moved to Tulsa, where she attended Riverview, Horace Mann, and graduated from Central High School in 1952. She was then employed by Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. as a long distance operator until 1962, when she became a PBX operator for Warren Petroleum, Gulf Oil. In 1967 she decided to be a stay at home mom and homemaker.
In 1980 until 1986, she returned to work as receptionist PBX operator for C-E Invalco. She then trained, and became an oral surgery assistant, until she retired in 2004. In 1984, she married Donald McCoy Clemens and moved to Cleveland.
Her hobby interests varied; from being an active member in Mid Continent Kennel Club where she trained and showed St. Bernards and Dachshunds, to sewing, painting and creating various arts and crafts. She took special joy in singing praises to our Lord.
Survivors include Don Clemens, husband, Muskogee; David and Terry Williams, son and daughter-in-law, Muskogee; Laura and Shawn Robinson, daughter and son-in-law, Sapulpa; Steve Clemens, step-son, Mannford; grandchildren, Jacob Williams and Randi, Nathan Williams, Katelyn Robinson, Miranda Robinson; great-grandchildren, Rian Williams, Raegan Williams, Ian Williams; cousin and best friend, Gerald Usrey and Rhonda of Colleyville, TX.
