Walter Edward Cothran

1930 - 2013

— Memorial services for Walter Edward Cothran, 82, of Muskogee, OK, will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home Chapel in Muskogee, OK, with Reverend Marion Graves officiating. Burial will be in Middleton Chapel Cemetery in Oktaha, OK.

Walter was born May 1, 1930 at Muskogee, OK, the son of Edward Thomas and Mamie Agnes (Bryant) Cothran and died Saturday, March 16, 2013 at his home in Muskogee. Walter served his country in the U. S. Army. In 1972 he married Marjorie Ferguson in Las Vegas, NV. Prior to retirement, Walter worked as a supervisor for an oil and gas exploration company where he spent 38 years without an accident. He spent many years in foreign countries and really enjoyed his travels.

Survivors include his wife, Marge of the home; two step-children, Vickie Best and husband, Rick, of Cement, WA, Joe Walters and wife, Penny, of Muskogee; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Ellen Harris and husband, C. R. of Oktaha, Cleada Owens and husband, Ron, of Eufaula. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, James Edward; three brothers, and two sisters.
