Larondon Hembry Jr., 17, of Muskogee was charged Wednesday with first-degree murder in the death of Christopher Lance Shade, 26, of Eufaula.
Hembry’s next court date is May 12 in McIntosh County District Court in Eufaula, said McIntosh County Assistant District Attorney Greg Stidham.
The investigation into Shade’s death started in Muskogee, where his body was found. When Hembry told Muskogee police he killed Shade in the parking lot of the Lighthouse Christian Center off U.S. 69 in Eufaula, the jurisdiction changed.
Hembry remains held without bond in McIntosh County Jail.
Hembry told police he drove to Muskogee with Shade’s body and parked the vehicle at South 24th Street and Peak Boulevard. Shade’s body was found shortly after 9 a.m. Feb. 18.
Shade’s mother, Marquetta Shade, said her son, Chris, had one son, Taylen, 5.
