Deadline for application to science, math school nears

OKLAHOMA CITY — The Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics is searching for sophomore students interested in being a member of the Class of 2012.

One of only 16 schools of its kind in the nation and recognized as a top public high school, OSSM was created through Oklahoma legislative action in 1983. It is designed as a public two-year residential high school for academically advanced juniors and seniors in science and math. OSSM serves all Oklahoma schools and students through sponsored math contests, research, teacher training and outreach activities.

The deadline for completed applications is March 4. Contact Suzanne Donnolo, director of admissions, at admissions@ossm.edu to inquire about a deadline extension.

Students and parents may also download the application on the school's website at www.ossm.edu.
