A McCurtain man, two Stigler men and a Eufaula man were injured Tuesday in a three-vehicle collision, according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report.
Kyle McCafferty, 30, was listed in good condition, and Joe Mitchell, 81, was listed in critical condition at McAlester Regional Health Center, a hospital spokeswoman said.
David DeWeese, 73, was listed in fair condition at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, a spokeswoman said.
Michael Mitchell, 54, was treated and released at the scene.
According to the report, McCafferty was driving a 2013 Chevrolet westbound on Oklahoma 9 at 11:50 a.m. when he crossed the center line and collided with Joe Mitchell, who was driving a 1995 Ford eastbound. McCafferty’s vehicle then struck a guard rail and collided with DeWeese, who was driving a 1997 Ford, also traveling eastbound. All vehicles were equipped with seat belts, and were in use by all except McCafferty. All vehicles were equipped with airbags, but only McCafferty’s deployed.
