A Muskogee man was charged Tuesday with failing to register as a sex offender.
Jeffrey Nigel Howard, 39, is accused of not registering as a sex offender despite being convicted of attempted aggravated indecent liberties with a child in Kansas in 1996.
Information filed in the case alleges Howard hasn’t registered despite being mailed and hand-delivered a letter notifying him of his failure to register.
Howard is set to return to court for a sounding docket at 10 a.m. Feb. 5. Howard was ordered held on $25,000 bond for failing to register, but was also ordered held without bond on a previous charge of bail jumping.
