An Oklahoma City man was killed and six others injured in a hit-and-run boat accident on Lake Eufaula, according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report.
The operator of that boat was located Sunday, said Capt. Chris West, OHP spokesman.
Greg Scherff, 38, was pronounced dead on arrival at Muskogee Regional Medical Center.
Scherff was killed and the others injured at approximately 6:22 p.m. Saturday. They were in a stationary 2002 Sea Ray, one mile north of Standing Rock in McIntosh County, when another boat hit them from behind.
That boat, a white Cobalt, fled the scene, the trooper’s report said.
The boater has not been arrested, West said Sunday afternoon.
A report is being compiled and turned over to the McIntosh County District Attorney’s office. It will be up to the DA to decide whether or not to press charges, West said.
None of the people on the boat Scherff was on were wearing life vests, the report said.
Adam Blackwell, 36, of Yukon and Rita Chapman, whose age and residence were unavailable, were flown to St. John Medical Center in Tulsa with head and trunk internal injuries. Both were stable when they were admitted, the report said.
Chapman was discharged, a hospital spokeswoman said. Blackwell's condition was unavailable Sunday.
Julie Taylor, whose age and residence also were unavailable, was taken by Muskogee County Emergency Medical Service to Muskogee Regional Medical Center where she was treated and released.
Brittany Clark, 15, of Moore was taken by private vehicle to Community Hospital Lakeview in Eufaula with an arm injury. Her condition was unavailable Sunday.
Lisa Schones, 38, whose age and residence were unavailable, was treated for head and neck injuries and released, the OHP report said. The report did not list the facility where Schones was treated.
Terri Lewis, 36, of Moore was taken by private vehicle to Community Hospital Lakeview with a head injury and was transferred to University of Oklahoma Medical Center in Oklahoma City, the OHP report said. Her condition was unavailable.
