A “Silent Witness” event will begin at 11 a.m. today at Arrowhead Mall in honor of victims of domestic violence. Between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., red cardboard silhouettes, each representing a deceased victim, will stand in front of JCPenney.
Area judges, police officers and domestic violence survivors will speak. This initiative is hosted by Verizon Wireless and the Oklahoma Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault to raise awareness of domestic violence during October, Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
