An elderly Muskogee man told police he shot an intruder late Saturday when the intruder illegally entered the man's home in the 600 block of Kankakee Street.
Muskogee police found the injured suspect shortly after, who was taken to Muskogee Regional Medical Center where he was stabilized. Police have not released the suspect's name or the name of elderly man, who they described as an "elderly disabled veteran."
Police investigators don't believe the elderly man did anything criminal, Cpl. Pedro Zardeneta said. The injured man will face complaints of first-degree burglary.
