Three hurt in two-car crash

One transported by helicopter after collision near Fort Gibson

Three people were injured Thursday afternoon in a collision east of Fort Gibson, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Sarah Chapman, 24, of Okay, was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Malibu southbound on 2 Mile Road around 5 p.m. Chapman attempted to cross U.S. 62 when her car was struck on the passenger-side door by a 1994 Mazda driven by William Hood, 47, of Tahlequah.

All parties were wearing their seat belts, and airbags deployed in both vehicles.

Muskogee County Sheriff’s Department deputies were first on the scene, said Sheriff Charles Pearson.

A fire and rescue unit from Fort Gibson responded, as did two Muskogee County Emergency Medical Service ambulances and the OHP.

OHP Trooper Ron Watson said Kile Myers, a passenger with Chapman, seemed to have been the most seriously injured. Myers was taken by helicopter to an area hospital. His condition was not available.

Chapman and Hood were taken by ambulance to Tahlequah City Hospital. Their condition was not available.
