Bowling alleys in the Muskogee area, including Checotah and Tahlequah, are participating in “Bowl for the Cure” month during February. There will be a fundraiser at each league event this month, and bowlers are encouraged to double up with another bowler during the events. Entry fees are $1 per bowler, and bowlers may enter with as many other bowlers as they like. Half of the money raised will go to Bowl for the Cure, and the other half will go to the winners for that event.
The Green Country Bowling League will also be “painting the alley pink” with pink bowling pins that can be purchased for $1 or $5. There will be a silent auction for a banner made by a local artist, and all money made from the auction will be donated. In addition, they will also be selling T-shirts and koozies, of which a portion of the proceeds from each sale will also be donated. Information: Charla Scott, (918) 577-1097.
