Twenty people were arrested during a warrant sweep by law enforcers from seven area agencies, according to a media release.
Approximately 30 officers served warrants for offenses ranging from armed robbery to failure to appear for court appearances.
“It was exciting to see so many officers from so many different agencies coming together to work as a team,” District 27 District Attorney Brian Kuester said in the release.
District 27 covers Adair, Cherokee, Sequoyah and Wagoner counties.
Participating in the sweep were:
• Oklahoma Highway Patrol;
• Wagoner Police Department;
• U.S. Marshals Service;
• Coweta Police Department;
• Cherokee County Sheriff's Department;
• Northeastern State University Police; and
• DA’s Office investigators.
The Wagoner County Sheriff's Office had additional staff available for the influx of people brought to the jail. The Broken Arrow Police Department had officers on standby for warrants to be served in the Broken Arrow area.
