A committee formed to review and recommend changes to rules on public input at city meetings will hear residents’ comments when it meets Monday.
The panel — made up of three city councilors, two administrators and two residents — was created at the request of Ward IV Councilor Wayne Johnson.
Johnson, who was elected in February, said clarification and modification are needed in order to provide guidance and uniformity in the application of the rules.
Monday’s meeting will consist of 45 minutes set aside for public comment, with individuals being limited initially to five minutes each. Committee members will then discuss for 15 minutes the comments presented.
The meeting is at 5:30 p.m. Monday in the City Council Chambers in the Muskogee Municipal Building, 229 W. Okmulgee Ave.
