Area student awarded scholarship

Colton Craig Carlton has received the Keeper of the Plains Scholarship from the Keeper of the Plains Foundation and the Security National Bank of Enid. Scholarships are $500 per semester for up to four years.

Carlton is the son of Rodney Carlton and Kristen Carlton and the grandson of Don and Nellwyn Carlton of Warner and Dr. John and Seija Larsen of Dunnellon, Fla.

Dr. Roy and Janet Camp, members of the scholarship committee, came to Connors State College in Warner to make the presentation.

They were welcomed by Connors President Dr. Tim Faltyn who spoke of the value of scholarships and the quality of students who receive them.

Dr. Roy Camp presented Colton with a personalized Pendleton blanket embroidered with “Keeper of the Plains 2012.”

Colton is a 2012 graduate of Warner High School and is a freshman at Connors State College this semester.
