Muskogee County Democrats will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Martin Luther King Center to plan for precinct, county, congressional district and state conventions.
Dennis Wilhite, past chairman of the Muskogee County Democratic Party, said a large turnout is needed to address several important issues.
“We will need to get the word out about precinct officers, county officers and delegates,” Wilhite said. “It is so very important for us to gather and plan for the upcoming months — remember that 2014 will be upon us before we know it.”
Wilhite said he is looking forward to having the “energy and enthusiasm” of Jack Reavis, who was selected in January as party’s interim chairman. Wilhite said he will continue to work with Reavis “until he gets grounded.”
