Two arrested in meth case

— Two Muskogee men were arrested Tuesday after police found a meth lab in their vehicle.

Magnum Rawson, 29, and Marshall Rawson, 30, are being held without bond at the Muskogee County/City Detention Facility. Magnum Rawson is in jail on complaints of endeavoring to manufacture a controlled dangerous substance. Marshall Rawson is in jail on complaints of possession of a controlled dangerous substance and endeavoring to manufacture a controlled dangerous substance.

Muskogee Police Lt. Bobby Lee said police spotted a green 1999 Chevrolet Cavalier in a church parking lot at 401 Independence St. about 3:34 a.m. Monday. Lee said when the car’s occupants saw Officer James Hamlin’s police car approaching, they drove away. Hamlin stopped the vehicle and smelled “a strong chemical smell” he associated with meth.

A 911 log states the alleged meth lab spilled inside the Cavalier.

“Once other officers arrived, Officer Hamlin was able to observe what appeared to be a rolling meth lab under the passenger seat,” Lee said.

Lee said two passengers in the back seat of the Cavalier were not arrested, but one of the passengers became sick because of the smell of the spilled chemicals and was taken to Muskogee Regional Medical Center.
