Army Sgt. John Wesley Taylor Jr., and his unit played a game of touch football with NFL Hall of Famer Howie Long in Afghanistan on Nov. 7.
Taylor is the son of Albert and Ida Tompkins of Fort Gibson. He has been in Afghanistan since July.
Tompkins is the President of the Blue Star Mothers of America Chapter 3 in Muskogee. They meet on the fourth Tuesday of each month in the Bland Building on York Street at 7 p.m. Information: 441-7378.
