A Coweta teen was injured when the vehicle he was riding in struck a tree in Wagoner County about 6 p.m. Monday, according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report.
Tyler Cole, 15, was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa with internal injuries. His condition was unavailable Tuesday.
A 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix driven by Justin Carney, 17, of Muskogee, lost control on a gravel road on 225th and 138th road, about three miles west of Coweta, the OHP report states.
The Grand Prix rolled once and hit a tree.
Carney was not injured. Brandon Harp, 18, of Coweta, a passenger in the car, was not injured.
The vehicle was traveling at an unsafe speed, according to the OHP report.
Cole was not wearing a seatbelt and was pinned for about 15 minutes.
Carney and Harp were wearing seatbelts. Airbags did not deploy.
