Filings end for school board elections

Races have developed for board of education positions in Muskogee and Hilldale school districts.

Filing for school board races across Oklahoma ended Wednesday.

A list released Wednesday by the Muskogee County Election Board showed Larry Dan Leatherman and Pamela Isaacs vying for the Office 5 seat on the Muskogee school board. The seat is held by MPS Board President Danny Shiew.

In Hilldale, incumbent Terri Breedlove has filed for another term for the Office 5 seat. Vernon Antonioni filed for position on Monday.

Fort Gibson incumbent school board member Darren Kilpatrick drew no opponent for Office 5.

Wagoner Office 5 incumbent board member will face Mark Collins.

Races also have developed in Braggs, Webbers Falls, Norwood, Gore and Hulbert.

The annual school board elections will be Feb. 9. If no candidate gets 50 percent or more of the vote, a runoff election will be held between the top two candidates on April 6.

• Haskell: Office 5, Darren Stephens.

• Porum: Office 5: Stuart Morton and Michael Wright; Office 3, unexpired term, Lisa C. Harris, Raymond Simeroth, Doris Sissy Goekler.

• Wainwright: Office 3, Chris Brown.

• Webbers Falls: Office 5, David Jarrard.
