AARP Oklahoma is looking for volunteers to be part of its Tax-Aide program.
AARP Tax-Aide tax counselor-volunteers receive comprehensive training in cooperation with the Internal Revenue Service and are reimbursed on a limited basis for qualified program-related expenses, said AARP Oklahoma Tax-Aide Partnership and Communications Specialist Ed Pitts.
“The AARP Tax-Aide program is a wonderful resource for low- and middle-income taxpayers and especially for senior citizens,” Pitts said. “We are looking for volunteers of all ages and backgrounds, especially those with good computer skills to assist with electronic filing.”
Training for new volunteers will be held in January, and Tax-Aide site locations will operate from Feb. 1 to April 15. Information: www.aarp.org/taxaide or call toll free (888) 687-2277.
