Emily Mae Crank, 32, of Muskogee will spend 33 months in federal prison followed by 36 months of supervised release.
The punishment is for fraud in connection with acquiring a student loan, said U.S. Attorney Sheldon Sperling.
Crank also was ordered to pay restitution of $5,725.67.
Charges arose from an investigation by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Department, Northeastern State University Campus Police, Muskogee Police Department and U.S. Secret Service.
Crank was indicted by a federal grand jury in March and pleaded guilty in April.
Crank used NSU students’ identification information to get loans in their names and converted the money to her use, Sperling said.
Crank was ordered to report to the Bureau of Prisons on Dec. 17.
