At a glance – Muskogee Public Schools Board of Education
At its regular meeting Tuesday, the Muskogee Public Schools Board of Education:
• Approved proposed changes in board policies governing part-time and substitute staff development, substitute teaching and reimbursement for travel expenses.
• Called the annual school board election for Feb. 9, 2010.
• Approved the schedule of regular monthly meetings for 2010.
• Approved voluntary separation plan with Muskogee Education Support Personnel Association.
• Approved resignation of the district’s Child Nutrition Services nutritionist.
Recognized Muskogee Education Association Employees of the Month: Shawn Shorb, fifth-grade, Tammy Bohnstead, sixth-grade at Harris-Jobe, and Catherine Dennis, math at 7th & 8th Grade Center.
• Recognized Muskogee Education Support Personnel Association Support Employees of the Month: Indian Education secretary Gail Sevier and Creek Elementary custodian Carl Flinn.
• Heard about efforts to improve student math and science performance and test scores.
