Children in Muskogee County ages 9 and under who received their first dose of H1N1 flu vaccine at school, are now eligible to receive their second dose. The second dose will be given from 8 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 4 pm., Monday through Friday, at Muskogee County Health Department, 530 S. 34th St.
Children ages 6 months through 9 years are recommended to receive two doses of the 2009 H1N1 vaccine. The Centers for Disease Control recommends that the two doses be separated by 28 days. Children from Porter and Okay schools will be eligible to receive their second dose in December.
The Muskogee County Health Department will be closed Nov. 26 and 27 for the Thanksgiving holiday.
