Because of above normal and persistent rain this fall, many producers may have been prevented from planting all or a portion of their 2010 wheat crop, said Brian Hisey, county executive director for the Muskogee County Farm Service Agency. The established final planting date for crop insurance purposes for wheat in this area is Nov. 30.
“The deadline to timely file for prevented planting history credit with FSA is 15-days after the established final planting date or December 15th,” Hisey said.
Producers who late-file for prevented planting history credit after the deadline will be subject to the late filed verification fees of $46 for each farm number.
