Larry Wilkinson, secretary of the Wagoner County Election Board, said individuals interested in running for a seat on the Board of Education need to pick up and file their Declaration of Candidacy at the election board office. Filing period is 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 7-9.
All public school districts in Wagoner County will have Office 5 open for election, which is a five-year term. In addition, the Okay School District will also have Office 3 open, which is a three-year term. Indian Capital Technology Center District No. 4 will have Office 2 open for election, which is a five-year term.
The Board of Education positions will be filled at the Annual School Election on Feb. 9. If no candidate received more that 50 percent of the total votes cast in this election, the two candidates receiving the highest number of votes will have a runoff election April 6.
