Muskogee teen missing for nearly two weeks
Police are asking for the public’s help to locate a missing Muskogee teen.
Donna Mendenhall, 16, was last seen around 5 p.m., Oct. 30. Anyone who may have seen her since is being asked to call Muskogee police.
She is a first-time runaway, said her father, Joseph Mendenhall. She told him she was going to stay all night with a friend, but never showed at the friend’s house, police said.
After reading items written by her, Police Lt. Ginny Bemo said Mendenhall may be part of a group of fans of a band known as Insane Clown Posse. Some fans have been initiated into a gang “called Juggalos and Juggalettes,” Bemo said. “They sometimes paint their faces like clowns.”
The clown fans are showing up in Tulsa and Muskogee, Bemo said.
Donna Mendenhall’s cousin in Hanna told police she saw the girl in Hanna on Nov. 1, but couldn’t convince her to go with her or go home.
Mendenhall met a boy at Jobs Corps in Tahlequah who was from Hanna, but he is no longer in contact with her, said Joseph Mendenhall.
After reading some of her writing about being tired of rules and curfews, wanting to be 18, wanting to have a baby and a boyfriend, her father said he is convinced she ran away.
The missing girl has relatives in McAlester who may be hiding her out, her father said. She also was seen at a mobile home park on the outskirts of Eufaula, he said.
