The Waldenbooks at Arrowhead Mall is among four Oklahoma Waldenbooks stores due to close in January, according to a media release from its parent company, Borders Group.
The Michigan-based book chain will close approximately 200 mall stores in January, leaving 130 mall-based locations open.
Borders spokesman Mary Davis said the Muskogee store’s inclusion on the list confirms that the store will close in January, but no date has been announced.
A Borders release said the list is not final and is subject to change pending finalization of agreements over the coming weeks.
As long as stores remain open previously purchased gift cards will be honored, and gift cards can be used in any Borders or Waldenbooks location or online at Borders.com, the media release said.
