A Muskogee fire department rescue team took two minutes Thursday to rescue a child whose head was stuck in a chair.
The girl, almost 3 years old, had gotten her head stuck in a plastic chair at Muskogee Day Nursery, 323 Callahan St.
“I don’t know how she got her head stuck in there,” said Fire Captain Barry Harris. “We had to cut the chair out from around her. “She wasn’t crying — she was a brave little girl.”
He said the call to go to Muskogee Day Nursery on Callahan Street came at 10:30 a.m. The child’s name was not released.
It’s the first time such an incident has happened in the 10 years she’s worked at the day care, said Shannon Roberts, morning supervisor.
“She just popped her head right in there,” Roberts said. “But she did really good (while the chair was being cut apart).”
