<font color=green>P.M. UPDATE: </font>Boil advisory issued for Lake Eufaula State Park

The Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality has advised Lake Eufaula State Park, located in McIntosh County, to inform guests and other consumers of the drinking water that it is unsafe for human consumption due to the presence of E. coli. This boil advisory affects Lake Eufaula State Park only.

The boil advisory was issued after water samples indicated the presence of E. coli. To ensure the water is safe for human consumption, water served from the Lake Eufaula State Park system should be vigorously boiled for at least one minute before drinking, use in food preparation, washing dishes or brushing teeth.

The advisory to boil water will remain in effect until the water system ensures that chlorination can be adequately maintained and that, if necessary, any required corrections to structural systems or operational practices have been made. DEQ will require that proper testing of water samples indicates the water to be free from E. coli before suspending this advisory.
