A Muskogee man was arrested early Tuesday after a high-speed pursuit.
Rodney J. Jacobs, 39, traveled left of center in his vehicle and then attempted to elude police at approximately 3:40 a.m., according to a Tuesday police report.
The chase started on Augusta and Cook streets and ended when Jacobs tried to turn east onto Elm Grove Road, south of Muskogee off U.S. 64, said Police Lt. Bobby Lee.
Jacobs struck a guardrail, and when officers tried to block him, Jacobs struck a police car. He then got stuck in a ditch.
When he wouldn’t open his window, Officer James Hamlin broke it, cutting his hand.
Jacobs was taken to Muskogee Regional Medical Center for a blood test to determine his level of intoxication.
Hamlin’s injury required stitches, Lee said.
Jacobs was arrested on complaints of driving under suspension, driving under the influence, resisting an officer, attempting to elude and driving left of center, Lee said.
