Muskogee police said they filed a report Monday requesting charges be filed against a night club owner who allegedly allowed underage drinkers inside.
Early Sunday morning, police found about 50 underage drinkers inside NC Night Club at 501 N. 32nd St., police said Monday.
Night club manager David McCoy allowed subjects under the age of 21 to enter the establishment and allowed intoxicating liquor on the premises, police said.
McCoy also allowed an unattended firearm inside his low-point beer establishment, the report said.
“There was a pistol found behind the counter with a loaded magazine but no bullet in the chamber,” said Police Lt. Bobby Lee said.
Muskogee County District Attorney Larry Moore said the matter is under investigation. He also said the report he received did not have the names of those under 21 or the names of those drinking.
McCoy told Moore’s office the establishment was not open, that the event was a private 25th birthday party for someone. A picture taken by police showed a liquor bottle behind a counter, Moore said.
McCoy had a beer license for the establishment, but not a liquor license, Lee said.
Police said no arrests were made.
“That (arresting each one) could not have been done safely,” Lee said.
