Donna Sue Jones, aka Donna Sue Scott, of Stilwell was sentenced to five years probation and ordered to pay $10,222 restitution Monday.
Jones, 47, pleaded guilty in July to embezzlement and theft from an Indian tribal organization, said U.S. Attorney Sheldon Sperling.
Jones was indicted by a federal grand jury the month before her plea after an investigation by the Cherokee Nation Marshal Service.
From September 2005 through August 2007, Jones, an employee of the Cherokee Nation Human Services Department, fraudulently processed applications and issued checks from the General Assistance Program, Sperling said.
