Trick-or-treaters are invited to have a safe and happy Halloween by trick-or-treating with the city of Muskogee. Parents can bring trick-or-treaters to following locations between 6 and 8 p.m. on Saturday:
• Muskogee Police Department, 112 S. Third St.
• City Hall, 229 W. Okmulgee Ave.
• Muskogee Fire Stations:
• No. 1, 515 Columbus St.
• No. 3, 2603 Border Ave.
• No. 4, 100 S. Country Club Road
• No. 5, 1800 N. York St.
• No. 6, 513 E. Peak Blvd.
• No. 7, 200 N. 40th St.
Other towns in the areas have specified guidelines for Halloween:
• Braggs — No time frame is specified, but children are instructed to take lighting with them, go in pairs, and have adults check their candy before eating it.
• Checotah — To celebrate Halloween, all the businesses downtown will give out candy from 5 to 8:30 p.m.
• Eufaula — Eufaula will observe Halloween twice this year. Downtown merchants will give out candy from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday. City-wide trick-or-treating will begin at 5:30 and last until 8 or 9 p.m.
• Fort Gibson — Halloween trick-or-treating will be allowed from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday.
• Hulbert — Hulbert has no rules on trick-or-treating, but the Saturday curfew is 11 p.m.
• Keefeton — Keefeton Volunteer Fire Department will be handing out candy to trick-or-treaters between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Saturday. All children welcome.
• Muskogee — Trick-or-treating will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday.
• Oktaha — In Oktaha, several churches are holding fall festivals Saturday to keep most children off the streets. Those children who do go trick-or-treating should be home by 8 p.m., or 9 p.m. at the latest.
• Okay — Halloween will be observed from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday in Okay.
• Porter — Trick-or-treating will start Saturday at about dark and last until porch lights start being turned off.
• Porum — On Saturday in Porum, several organizations are holding indoor events. Children who go out to trick-or-treat have been told by the school never to trick-or-treat at strangers’ homes, and to stay in groups.
• Tahlequah — No set rules other than to be safe, and curfew is at midnight.
• Wagoner — Mayor James Jennings said that only children ages 12 and under can be out trick-or-treating on Saturday, and the time frame is from dusk until 9 p.m.
• Warner — A spokeswoman for City Hall said that Saturday’s trick-or-treating will be allowed from 5 to 8 p.m.
• Webbers Falls — Mayor Jewell Horne said Saturday’s rules for trick-or-treating are that they be finished by 10 p.m. and that they only walk at the sides of the streets.
