Prosecutors filed an embezzlement charge early Tuesday against former Warner City Clerk/Treasurer Carla Lanette Reed.
Officials said she is expected to turn herself in at 3 p.m.
She is charged with fraudulently appropriating sums in excess of $1,000 but less than $25,000 that belonged to the town. The period of the alleged embezzlement is from July 1, 2005 through June 30, 2008.
Upon conviction, the crime is punishable by a state prison sentence for a term of not more than five years and a fine not to exceed $5,000 and payment of restitution, said Muskogee County District Attorney Larry Moore.
