Two people were found dead Friday morning in a helicopter crash 2 miles south of Tahlequah City Airport and a little west, Cherokee County Undersheriff Jason Chennault said.
Names of the deceased will be announced by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol after next of kin is notified, Chennault said.
The helicopter left Tahlequah City Airport about 4:30 a.m. Thursday. A search was started Thursday afternoon, Chennault said. OHP troopers found the crash scene about 8:45 a.m. Friday, he said.
