WAGONER — A man suspected in the alleged armed robbery of a Dollar General Store is expected to be charged Wednesday, police said.
Ernest Carl Brower, 36, was arrested about 8 p.m. Tuesday at his home less than a block from the store in the 500 block of West Cherokee Street, said Wagoner Police Detective Paulette Caskey.
Although the alleged robber had a stocking cap on that he had cut the holes out of so he could see, he was recognized from his clothing, Caskey said. A store video clearly showed the robbery.
“He walked in and walked up to the clerk, held the gun up and said he wanted all the money and to give it to him,” Caskey said.
Police set up a perimeter around the area, including his home, and found the mask Brower was believed to be wearing in his back yard. He used a pellet gun that had a shortened barrel. It was found in weeds behind the house, Caskey said.
