The trial of a former Okay police officer accused of driving under the influence and carrying a firearm has been postponed until Oct. 26, Wagoner County Assistant District Attorney B.J. Baker said.
Matthew Cole Pruegert, 27, of Okay was arrested by sheriff’s deputies in December while driving an Okay Police Department vehicle.
Pruegert pleaded not guilty to all charges and was scheduled to be tried on Monday. His attorney sought the continuance, Baker said. Pruegert is free on $3,000 bond.
Pruegert also is scheduled to appear Oct. 26 in Wagoner County on a driving while impaired charge filed Sept. 14, according to court records. His bond on that charge is $2,500.
Pruegert is to appear for a disposition docket in Pittsburg County District Court on Oct. 20 for a misdemeanor DUI charge filed May 26. He is free on a $10,000 bond on that charge after failing to appear for a July 9 disposition docket, according to court records.
