The town of Summit was deeded several lots by county commissioners Monday with best wishes for the town to develop them for growth.
Summit Trustee Renee Warren said the town is considering developing housing on the property and perhaps applying for the establishment of a part-time medical clinic.
Commissioner Gene Wallace said the county acquired the properties when no one would bid on them at tax sales.
The county frequently gives such parcels to the city of Muskogee, he said.
Wallace complimented the town on its efforts to clean up abandoned properties and work toward development.
