P.M. UPDATE: Coburn appoints new chief of staff

— WASHINGTON, D.C. – Muskogee Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Okla., announced the appointment of Brian E. Treat as chief of staff. Treat has served with Coburn in the Senate since 2005 as legislative assistant and later as senior policy advisor. Treat previously served Coburn in the House of Representatives from 1998 to 2000.

 

“I’m proud to appoint Brian Treat as my new chief of staff," Coburn said in a media release. "Brian is a gifted leader who has deep roots in Oklahoma and a deep commitment to the values and principles we all hold dear. I wish him well in his new role."
