A preliminary hearing will continue at 10 a.m. Oct. 6 for Austin Michael Mullins, 26, who is charged with cruelty to animals in the June shooting of a Jack Russell terrier.
According to testimony in the preliminary hearing that began Tuesday, Mullins and Krystal Lynn Lewis, 24, took the dog to Hopewell Park and shot it.
The dog's skin was later found hanging on a fence outside the apartment where Lewis lived. She has waived preliminary hearing and is to appear Oct. 1 for district court arraignment.
