From left, Nickolas Nelson, Jordan Cunningham, Ryan King and Lindsey Allen play at a new playground Thursday. The brightly-colored one-piece playground now attracts youngsters who live in Phoenix Village in the southeast part of town.
Mark Wilkerson, director of the Muskogee Parks and Recreation Department, said the 30 by 30-foot piece of playground equipment was installed in Bill Pool Park with financial help from the Service League. Total cost was about $10,000, he said.
“That’s a densely-populated residential area with a lot of kids,” he said. “I expect that it’s already getting lots of use.”
