Eight present or former Webbers Falls town trustees pleaded not guilty Thursday to charges of embezzlement from the town.
Henry Tipken, Jewell Horne, Johnny Pollard, Larry Chappell, Loren Dwyer, Richard Cude, Stanley Cowan and Matt Myers are to appear at 9 a.m. June 18 for a disposition docket in Muskogee County District Court. At that time, a date will be set for trial.
All are charged with embezzlement by public official for allegedly having received pay to which they were not entitled. Each had earlier waived a preliminary hearing.
Dennis Berton, another former trustee, did not waive preliminary hearing but was ordered held over for trial after the state called one witness.
