Kylie Stephens will be the presenter at the Workforce OK Veterans Monthly Job Club on Wednesday. She will be discussing opportunities for veterans to receive some free training through the Veterans Workforce Investment Program (VWIP).
Stephens is a case manager from East Central University in Ada. The school had been awarded another Department of Labor grant to set up a program to help Veterans complete up to five green energy job certifications in the following areas: Weatherization and blower door use, infrared science use and analysis, water and wastewater Class D license, solar energy system and basic environmental science. A condensed version of the training is being considered locally.
Any interested veterans are encouraged to attend. Registration with Workforce OK as a veteran, a copy of their DD214 and a VWIP application are needed to enroll. The job club meets monthly on the fourth Wednesday from 10 a.m. until noon at the Workforce Center, 717 S. 32nd. Information: Kathy Durland or Kevin Heath: 682-3364.
