Both the Connors State College and Bacone College men’s basketball teams lost their opening round games at their respective national tournaments on Wednesday.
Connors lost 84-78 in overtime to Walters (Tenn.) State at the National Junior College Athletic Association tournament in Hutchinson, Kan., and the Cowboys, 30-3 for the season, move to the consolation round at 2 p.m. Thursday.
Bacone fell 105-78 to Mountain Valley (W.Va.) State in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics at Kansas City, Mo. The loss ends the Warriors’ season at 19-13 in their first ever appearance in the national tournament.
