Three juveniles arrested for school damage

STIGLER (AP) – Authorities say three juveniles are in custody on $150,000 bond each for vandalizing and setting fire to a Haskell County elementary school, causing an estimated $400,000 in damage.

Sheriff Brian Hale says a 14-year-old boy, a 12-year-old boy and a 12-year-old girl were arrested early Tuesday after firefighters responded to a blaze at the Whitefield School.

Hale says the fire destroyed a room housing fitness equipment behind the gymnasium and other damage was done to a vending machine, a school bus and two vehicles at the county barn.

Hale says a trail of property damage and footprints in the dew led deputies to the youths at a residence about a half-mile from the school.
