Salvation Army sets gift application hours

— The Salvation Army will begin registration for families who wish to sign up their children, ages 12 and younger, for Christmas gift assistance.

Sign-up hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday; and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday and Saturday at the Salvation Army Church, 700 Independence St. Parents must know their children’s clothing sizes and toy suggestions under $30.

All applicants who receive food stamps must bring:

• Photo ID.

• Referral letter from the Department of Human Services.

All other applicants must bring:

• Photo ID.

• Birth certificate or shot records for each child.

• Proof of income.

• Proof of residency, such as a utility bill.

Families who don’t have children younger than 12 can sign up for a food box using the same requirements.
